Motherhood has changed me a lot.
I used to never leave the house without makeup on and my hair done. I used to wear the trendiest clothes and most fashionable shoes. I used to buy all the makeups and skincare products that they promote in the market. I used to love collecting designer bags and perfumes. I was also usually traveling or having fun with my friends in bars and restos. Come to think of it, I think a huge chunk of my salary was spent on travel, clothes, shoes, bags, perfumes, and makeups. And if I only knew then what I know now, I would have just saved all that cash. But do not get me wrong, a part of me is also grateful that I got to experience those things at some point in my life. I am grateful because I could say that I enjoyed those moments to the fullest. It is just that I am a changed person now. You would no longer see me in bars. I would also be fortunate to have taken a shower within the day so that also means makeups and hairdos are also out of the picture. I prefer baggy clothes and flat shoes because they are much more comfortable to wear and more suited to my lifestyle. I also rarely go on travel nowadays or if I do, I have a little kid in tow along with my husband. So, that also limits the places we can go to because first, we have to check if the place is kid-friendly and if the travel would be comfortable for our little one. Also, my designer bags are now stuck in the closet. I now prefer carry all bags or big diaper bags so that I have everything I need with me wherever we go. Yes, there are so many changes but I love every part of my life now and wouldn’t trade it for anything else in the world.
